Arsenal target Eden Hazard has revealed his ambition to play in Serie A.

The Lille playmaker is being pursued by several clubs in England and on the continent after numerous dazzling displays in the French club's pursuit of a first league title since 1954.

Arsenal are known to have been monitoring the 20-year-old for some time, with Arsene Wenger confirming his interest in the Belgian during the January transfer window.

“He is a player that I have followed for some time, but I do not want to destabilise Lille right now," said the Arsenal manager at the time. "When he is available for transfer, we will see if there is the possibility to sign him.”

Hazard appeared to put an end to speculation regarding his future by signing a contract extension with Lille in February but, according to, the interest of Arsenal remains.

The midfielder, though, is seemingly likely to leave the Stade Lille-Metropole within in the next year or two should the likes of Real Madrid and Inter Milan formalise their interest.

Hazard has now flirted with Inter, claiming he would like to play in Italy at some point during his career.

"Italy fascinates me," said Hazard.

"One day I would like to play for a great team and I know that in Italy there are many big clubs, but for now I'm fine here [with Lille].

"Serie A fascinates me and in the future I would like to try to play there.

"We'll see what happens. Some of the words from [Inter] president [Massimo] Moratti have made me very happy."

Along with Arsenal, Liverpool are also said to be chasing Hazard.
