Former Liverpool academy starlet on Leeds' radar

Leeds United are being linked with a summer move for former Liverpool starlet Victor Palsson.

The Anfield academy graduate failed to make a first team appearance during his time with Liverpool, joining Hibernian on an 18-month contract after a brief loan spell with Dagenham & Redbridge.

After just six months in the SPL, Championship clubs have been alerted to the 20-year-old defensive midfielders availability, with Leeds United boss Simon Grayson part of the chasing pack.

Southampton manager Nigel Adkins is also keen on the Icelandic U21 international, according to talkSPORT, with the Saints boss looking to strengthen his squad at St. Mary's ahead of their return season in England's second tier.

Palsson joined Liverpool in 2009, with Rafael Benitez bringing the player to club from AGF in Denmark.

Made captain of the reserves, Palsson was unable to make a senior breakthrough under the Spaniard at Liverpool, and left the Reds for Scotland on a free transfer.

Grayson is keen to strengthen his squad after missing out on the play-offs this term, with the Elland Road outfit's sights firmly set on a return to the Barclays Premier League.

It would also offer Palsson a chance to return to England and prove himself after showing such great potential during his time at Melwood with Liverpool.
