Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel is set to re-join Liverpool this summer, reports skysports.com.
The American's contract runs out this summer and Villa, who have struggled under Gerard Houllier this season, are yet to offer the keeper a deal to stay at the club for next season.
And her agent, Tony McGill, says Friedel's future, which could lie with Liverpool, will be sorted next week.
"I will be holding talks with Brad next week, once the season has finished and we will then go over his options" McGill told skysports.com.
"At the moment he is focused on Villa's final game, but also the birth of his next child which is imminent.
"I have read the newspaper speculation, but we are not going to talk about any clubs until the season has finished."
Liverpool could be without Pepe Reina this summer, with the Spaniard's future still unresolved and Friedel could provide competition with Brad Jones, who is on loan at Derby County.
The 39-year-old spent three years with Liverpool until 2000 where he served as an understudy to David James and Sander Westerveld, before joining Blackburn and then Villa as he established himself as one of the division's finest keepers.
