Jon Harley and Liam Chilvers have been told they can leave Notts County on free transfers this summer, despite being under contract with the club until 2012.

Magpies manager Martin Allen will also be releasing Graeme Lee, David Grof, Kevin Smith, Alan Gow, Febian Brandy and Njogu Demba-Nyren.

"It is never easy to do this part of the job, especially as they have performed so admirably since I have been here," said Allen.

"What makes it tougher is that they are good people and have been good to work with.

"They are all very good, professional, honest people."

Several County players are set to discuss their future at the club with Allen as he rebuilds his squad for another campaign in League One.
