Clark: We're ready for promotion

Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark feels his side are deserving of promotion to the Npower Championship.

The Terriers go into the second-leg of their play-off semi-final against Bournemouth all square after Kevin Kilbane's early header was cancelled out by Donal McDermott's long-range effort.

The first-leg result means any win for Huddersfield in the second-leg will see them reach the play-off final at Old Trafford, a scenario that is ideal according to Clark.

"I couldn't ask for me being in the home leg, we just need to win the game to go through," Clark told GiveMeFootball.

"They're in fantastic spirits, they're very very positive an they're looking forward to the game. They're right up for it, they realise whats required.

"They deserve it to do it (win promotion). We have lots of quality players who have played at a higher level and we've got to go on and we can do it."

Clark's side are in the midst of a 26-game unbeaten run stretching back to December, and it's a run that the former Sunderland and Newcastle United player believes sums up why the club deserve to earn promotion.

"You can never play it down, it's a magnificent run.

"Its thoroughly deserving and that's why the players deserve to get promoted when they've gone on a run like that because they've won games, they've stayed in games in different ways and they deserve to be successful."
