Athletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero has reportedly handed in a transfer request, according to click-manchester.com
The Argentine striker recently signed a new deal with the club until 2014, and reiterated that he would stay with the La Liga side until the end of that deal.
But reports now suggest the forward will break that deal, with Chelsea, Liverpool and big spending Manchester City interested in landing the player.
If Madrid were forced to sell the player, only Real Madrid have so far shown they can stump up the £45 million required to activate the player's release clause.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague said on twitter: "Athletico Madrid would prefer not to sell to Real Madrid. But so far Real Madrid is the only club willing to pay his 45m buy out clause."
Along with Chelsea, Liverpool and City have coveted Aguero since he burst on the scene with Madrid.
One thing that the trio might be able to offer Aguero, that his current side Madrid can't is Champions League football.
Chelsea and Manchester City will play in next year's competition, but Liverpool may be without European football at all as they battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for Europa League qualification.
