Tottenham are reportedly chasing Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lassogga, despite the German only recently signing a new contract.
According to German publication Kicker, the north London club are keen on the 19-year-old, who is valued at around £5 million.
TalkSPORT claims that the youngster has been drawing comparisons to compatriot Lukas Podolski, while he has scored 13 goals this season as Hertha secured promotion back to the Bundesliga.
But, despite the alleged interest from Tottenham, Lasogga has reportedly already pledged his future to his Berlin employers by penning a contract extension which keeps him a the Olympic Stadium until 2015.
Hertha manager Michael Preetz said of the deal: "We are glad we were able to bind Pierre to a deal for so long at Hertha."
Tottenham must now look elsewhere for attacking reinforcements as Harry Redknapp attempts to bring a striker of proven quality to White Hart Lane during the summer.
Spurs have been linked with Diego Forlan and Didier Drogba in their pursuit of reinforcements, with their ability to attract high-profile players likely to be affected by whether or not they can secure a place in Europe.
