Manchester United have continued to release more information about their upcoming tour of America, with a mammoth five games in the latest fixture.
United will take on New England, Seattle Sounders, Chicago Fire, MLS All Stars and Champions League final opponents Barcelona between 13-30th July.
Vidic says the MLS clubs will be a good test for Manchester United as they prepare for the Barclays Premier League season.
“I watched last year's tour matches on TV so I know we had some really competitive games against the MLS sides. That's very useful in pre-season,” The United defender said.
“You want to play teams who you can test yourself against. The result is always important, but it's more about getting yourself right physically during pre-season.
"Players are supposed to dread all the fitness work in pre-season, but I actually quite enjoy it.
“You have time to focus on your physical preparation without the stress of knowing you have to win every game. Of course, you always want to win, but the pressure isn't the same as when you start the season.”
Vidic believes the trip will also be a good bonding session for the Manchester United squad, with some new faces likely to be showing up over the summer period.
“The US tour is also a good opportunity to spend time with the lads,” Vidic said.
“We're there to work and improve ourselves but it's always nice to be together. It's interesting to travel around and visit the different cities.
“I'm particularly looking forward to visiting New York. I think it's a city everyone wants to see and experience and hopefully we may have some time to enjoy some of the sights as well."
It will be Vidic’s first time in America, and the skipper can’t think of a better way to be introduced to the sports loving nation.
“It'll be my first time in America, and I'm really looking forward to it,” Vidic said.
While each game will be a challenge for the United side, in particular fans will be excited about the Barcelona game, depending on the result in the Champions League final. The MLS All Stars also look set to include ex-Manchester United star David Beckham, which will no doubt be an exciting encounter as Beckham faces off with his boyhood side.
