Oxford have moved to bolster their forward line by signing Wycombe striker Jon-Paul Pittman.

The America-born frontman was released by the Chairboys at the end of the season and has secured a two-year deal with Chris Wilder's side.

Wilder told the club's official website: "JP is a very positive player who has the ability to create and score goals. He has electric pace and gives us a balance to the squad. I am delighted to have beaten off stiff competition for his signature and he is definitely a signing that will excite the supporters."

Pittman joined Wycombe in June 2009 and went on to score 14 goals in 77 games, but an injury sustained last year limited his appearances.

The 24-year-old old started his career at Nottingham Forest and has also had spells at Hartlepool, Bury, Doncaster and Crawley.
