Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo has revealed that the club have received a bid for Alexis Sanchez, according to Goal.com.
The Chilean international is expected to leave the Serie A side this summer, with a host of clubs queuing up to sign the winger.
And Pozzo's revelations that the club have received - and rejected - a bid for their star man, has swelled rumours linking Sanchez to Manchester City or Manchester United.
"To me, Sanchez is worth as much as [Lionel] Messi. That's just my personal opinion, though," Pozzo said.
"It is very hard to find any other players of his level. We have received an offer of €35m for him, but we rejected it. I think that he is worth more than that."
City and United are keen to strengthen their squads ahead of another assault on the Barclays Premier League title, and Sanchez, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo in the past, has been heavily linked with the duo as well as Barcelona and Inter Milan.
Given the money recouped for Cristiano Ronaldo two years ago, United would be capable of making a substantial bid for Sanchez, while City are also expected to be in the market, as their big spending policy continues.
