Liverpool target Keisuke Honda is set to secure a summer move to Manchester City, it has been claimed.
According to ESPNsoccernet, the Japanese playmaker will be joined at Eastlands by compatriot Yuki Abe, who currently plies his trade with Leicester City.
"The deals are under way, and expect both players to be at Eastlands," an insider told ESPNsoccernet.
Liverpool had reportedly been chasing the CSKA Moscow star for some time and, despite the 24-year-old's agent intimating he would remain in Russia for the duration of his contract, the Anfield club appear to have lost the race for his signature.
It was previously alleged that Honda was open to a move to Liverpool as the Reds ramped up their search for attacking reinforcements in January, although it is unclear whether talks over a proposed deal actually took place.
Imscouting.com, however, did report that Liverpool had made an enquiry over the potential availability of the attacker but were rebuffed in their attempts by CSKA.
Liverpool did eventually secure the acquisitions of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll during the winter transfer window, and it has been widely speculated that there will be significant investment at Anfield this summer.
