Manchester City midfielder Patrick Vieira could make a return to Arsenal, six years on from his last appearance for the club, report the Daily Mail.
The French World-Cup winner helped City win the FA Cup against Stoke City and qualify for the Champions League during a superb season for the Eastlands club.
But with rumours rife about the 35-year-old's future, Arsenal look set to offer him a deal to become a coach at the Emirate Stadium next season.
Vieira left Arsenal after scoring the winning penalty in the 2005 FA Cup final against Manchester United, the club's last piece of silverware.
City are also keen to promote Vieira to a coaching role, but have to fight off Arsenal, who are keen for Vieira to be available to them to lend a helping hand to their young squad.
