Bolton defender Gary Cahill appears to be set to join Chelsea next season, if the odds at Sky Bet are any kind of indication.

Starting the day at 21/1, the 25-year-old is now 7/2 to make the move to Chelsea.

Manchester City and Arsenal were said to be targeting the star as well, but Chelsea look to have the upper hand, with a high transfer budget, ability to challenge for titles and a side that’s experienced in Champions League football and will be looking to push for the ultimate European prize next season.

Cahill moved to Bolton from Aston Villa in 2008, and has had loan spells in Burnley and Sheffield, but this season the England international came into his own and has been a star for the Barclays Premier League club.

Despite not having a manager yet, Chelsea have still created a transfer wishlist, reports say. And Roman Abramovich reportedly feels that Cahill would help Chelsea build a defence to finally win the coveted Champions League trophy.

Daniel Sturridge, a Chelsea starlet who has just finished a loan spell at Bolton, has also reportedly persuaded Cahill to consider a move to Stamford Bridge.
