Reading's plans for next season have already started taking shape following their play-off final defeat with 14 players offered contracts while club captain Ivar Ingimarsson is one of several departing the Madejski Stadium.
Out-of-contract duo Hal Robson-Kanu and Brynjar Gunnarsson are two first-team regulars in talks over new deals while young professionals Jacob Walcott, Jack Mills, Ethan Gage, Michael Hector and Simon Locke are poised to stay for another year.
Furthermore, Academy graduates Carl McHugh, David Murphy, Angus MacDonald, Nick Arnold, John Goddard, Charlie Losasso and Gozie Ugwu will all pen pro deals.
Heading the list of those departing is Ingimarsson, who has spent eight years with the Berkshire club, while on-loan defender Zurab Khizanishvili has seen his season-long loan from Blackburn come to an end.
Following the pair out is striker David Mooney, who finished last season on loan at Colchester, and young pros James Rowe, Danny Joyce, Abdulai Bell-Baggie and Erik Opsahl. They join Scott Davies and Julian Kelly, who also parted ways earlier this month.
