Wigan star Charles N’Zogbia has dropped a hint that he may make a return to the Northern club, after tweeting to a fan that he still held the club close to his heart.
“Newcastle is a big club, and a gre[a]t atmosphere to play at St James's Park! I enjoyed the time I had playing for NUFC,” N’Zogbia wrote, after a Newcastle fan asked what he thought of the club.
Newcastle have recently renewed their interest in the 25-year-old, who played for the Toon for five years before moving to Wigan in 2009.
Competition is high to get the star’s signature though, with reports circulating that Tottenham, Everton, Sunderland and Liverpool are chasing.
The Frenchman was coy on his future when he spoke to reporters this week, admitting that even if he has already planned a move, nothing will be announced yet.
“The decision to sell me, and at what price, lies with my manager and the chairman,” N’Zogbia said.
“Even if I do have the desire to play at a bigger club I can’t say whether I’ll leave or stay.
“The only certainty is that I will be in England next season. I have this league in my blood.’
