Wes Brown is the first Manchester United star to be axed by Sir Alex Ferguson, after the two had a falling out in the lead up to the summer transfer period, according to the Daily Mirror.
Brown hasn’t played for Manchester United since mid March when the side faced Bolton, and has become fourth choice behind the likes of Fabio and Rafael da Silva, as well as John O’Shae, in the right back position.
While the England international had a great season for United in 2008, playing for the side against Chelsea in the Champions League final, overall Brown has been lackluster for the side, with injuries impeding efforts to fulfill his potential at Old Trafford.
Brown is the first to be shown the exit by Ferguson, as the Manchester United manager starts a clean out to lower the average age of the squad.
Everton and Sunderland are the front runners to sign Brown in the summer, as the 31-year-old goes in search of a new home.
