Hatem Ben Arfa and Dan Golsing have both made an early return from their off-season, as the Newcastle stars attempt to get match fit for pre season training.
Ben Arfa has spent the majority of the season out with a broken leg, while Gosling has had an ongoing knee problem, sustained during his time at Everton in the 2009/2010 season.
Newcastle assistant manager John Carver believes the pair will be able to aid their recoveries by getting back to work earlier than usual, as they aim to be able to start on the first game back in August.
“Both Dan and Hatem will be back and up to scratch for the new season,” Carver told the Chronicle.
“Dan is going to the US first to have a family holiday, then he’ll do some warm weather training before joining us for the games in the States.
“It’s the same for Hatem. Last season we knew there was no point in risking anybody once we were safe.
“Dan and Hatem looked really good in training.”
Meanwhile, Newcastle are looking at a very busy summer in the transfer period, with £35 million to spend on replacing striker Andy Carroll, as well as bringing some fresh faces into the squad as the Toon move to challenge for European football once more.
