Johnson targets overhauling United

Manchester City winger Adam Johnson says the club will be challenging for the title next season as they aim to knock Manchester United off their perch.

The England international has been part of a City squad which finished third in the Barclays Premier League, thereby qualifying for the Champions League and won the FA Cup.

And Johnson says that next season, City's are targeting the title and their neighbours United.

“They have been on top for decades now,” he said.

“I think we are probably as close as ever. Maybe if you tweak the squad a little bit we could give it a massive push next season.

"We finished third this year, so if we want to better ourselves we are going to want to be challenging for the title.”
