Tottenham Hotspur are to make a second bid for Internacional striker Leandro Damiao, according to reports.
The Daily Telegraph claims that Spurs are ready to up their opening offer of £10.3 million, with Harry Redknapp looking for an additional attacking option to boost his forward line.
“It was the first concrete offer we’ve had,” club president Giovanni Luigi said in reference to the opening offer from Tottenham Hotspur.
“I said I didn’t want to sell now, but I think they will come back with another attempt. I warned that he’ll only leave at the end of the year and for more money.”
It's claimed that the Brazilian club side want in the region of £20 million for the 21-year-old, although Redknapp has experience doing business with the Nação Vermelha after bringing Sandro to White Hart Lane from the Beira-Rio. A partnership set up between the two sides after that deal could be crucial to Spurs' efforts.
A Brazilian international, Damiao has a fantastic strike rate at club level and made his debut for the country against Scotland at the Emirates back in March.
Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping they can persuade the player to spend a longer spell in north London next season, although Roma and Benfica are also thought to be interested in the player's services.
