Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi is keen on a move to Barcelona, ending speculation surrounding a move to Tottenham Hotspur, according to talkSPORT.

The Italian striker has scored 18 goals in 36 games for the La Liga side this season, his most successive season since his move from the Premier League.

But now the former Manchester United man may be moving on to pastures new, to the current Champions League holders, Barcelona and not Tottenham Hotspur.

"Any player would make a lot of hope to play at Barca. Clearly it would be a dream to play for Barca," Rossi said.

"Barca is a great team, the best team in the world and maybe the best in history and the truth is I enjoy watching them."

During his brief spell with United, Rossi scored just once before loan spells with Newcastle United and Parma.

His move from United, to Villarreal, was to signal an upturn in his career, so much so that Tottenham bid for the player at the end of the January transfer window.

Tottenham are expected to make big changes in their forward line with Robbie Keane and Roman Pavlyuchenko both expected to leave the club.
