Everton players enjoyed a busy international period ahead of their summer holidays, with a handful of players representing their countries across the globe.

Leighton Baines made an impact for England after coming off the bench in a 2-2 draw against Switzerland, setting up Ashley Young for the Three Lions' equaliser at Wembley. Phil Jagielka was an unused substitute.

Jack Rodwell played 90 minutes for the England U21s in their 2-0 win over Norway, the final warm-up for Stuart Pearce's side ahead of the European Championships in Denmark.

Seamus Coleman was another unused substitute, this time for the Republic of Ireland in their 2-0 win away at Montenegro, whilst American goalkeeper Tim Howard felt the full force of Spain during a 4-0 defeat in Massachusetts.

Joseph Yobo scored a late equaliser for Nigeria in their 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia, although Victor Anichebe was an unused substitute.

Highly-rated Joao Silva scored for the Portugal U21s in their 2-0 win over Austria, while Magaye Gueye is hoping to feature for the French U21 side when they play Ukraine tonight.
