Paul Buckle has taken assistant manager Shaun North with him from Torquay to new club Bristol Rovers.

Buckle swapped Plainmoor for the Memorial Stadium last Monday and has now been quickly reunited with North, just hours after also luring goalkeeper Scott Bevan to Rovers.

The pair have worked together for the past four years, and Buckle told the Pirates' official website: "Shaun was my first appointment at Torquay and I am delighted to have him join me at Rovers."

He added: "He has been a vital part of the success at Torquay over the last four years and he knows exactly how I like to do things, which is very important to me.

"He is an excellent coach and will bring a fantastic work ethic to the club."

North spent 15 years with Portsmouth followed by a year as reserve-team coach at Oxford before linking up with Buckle at Torquay in 2007.
