Auxerre defender Cedric Hengbart has revealed interest in his services, with Stoke City one of the clubs monitoring the player.
Sport.co.uk reports that Tony Pulis made personal scouting trips to watch the player in action in Ligue 1, and has hinted in the past that a centre back is high on the club's summer agenda. Liam Ridgewell has also been linked.
Teams in Germany are also interested in Hengbert's services, as well as Barclays Premier League new boys QPR and Steve Kean's Blackburn Rovers.
"I have contacts in England. Stoke and Blackburn are the most serious ones and there's also QPR to a slightly less degree," said Hengbart.
"Werder Bremen and Hannover have also been in touch. But Germany is my third priority behind England and France."

Stoke must negotiate a qualifier first, but Walters believes that a favourable draw could help the Potters reach the knockout phases of the competition.
"We've got the qualifiers first and, like the FA Cup, if you can get a good draw, we can go through," the striker told BBC Radio Stoke.
"If we could manage to get through to the group stages, I think that would be massive for the club."
