Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean is aiming to speak to Manchester City about the availability of Roque Santa Cruz.

The Paraguayan striker returned for a second spell at Ewood park last season after being phased out of the City side after big money signings Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli arrived at the club.

And Kean admits that after keeping the club afloat, he would like to discuss Sant Cruz's current status with City.

"It was tough for Roque. He picked up a couple of knocks," said the Blackburn manager.

"But every day in training, he showed us how good he is.

"Now the loan period's up, we'll be in contact and see if he's available."
