Liverpool hero Jerzy Dudek has compared Arsenal target Karim Benzema to Brazilian superstar Ronaldo.
Benzema has had trouble getting game time at Real Madrid this season, putting him on the radar for Arsenal. And Dudek, who won the 2005 Champions League with Liverpool, says Benzema will be just as good, if not better, than the Brazilian legend.
"When I first saw his [Benzema's] first training session, I was impressed," Dudek told France Football.
"I told all my friends that Madrid had signed an extraordinary player. For me, he is even better than Ronaldo, the Brazilian. Karim has incredible qualities; he is fast and he is elusive, and he has an eye for goal."
Benzema has been linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the season, and with the transfer period now open, Arsene Wenger is reportedly considering making a move to bring the striker to the Emirates.
While Benzema won't come cheap, after going six season without a trophy, Wenger is reportedly ready to make some big signings to rebuild the Gunners squad. Benzema’s young age of 23 is also said to be a factor that is attracting Arsenal to his signature, with the Frenchman looking to keep his game time up to continue playing for the France team.
And after Dudek’s glowing reference of Benzema, Wenger can only increase his interest in the star.
