Neville spreading United skills in UAE
Manchester United - Gary Neville visits Soccer Skills clinic in Abu Dhabi
Manchester United defender Gary Neville may have hung up his boots this season, but he's still involved in a variety of activities at the club.
The former England international has joined the likes of Bobby Charlton after recently taken on the role of a club ambassador, and one of his first acts was to visit a soccer school in Abu Dhabi.
Neville, who famously graduated from the Red Devils' academy alongside the likes of David Beckham, was impressed by the facilities and coaching on offer to the kids, and believes the same footballing lessons can be taught all over the world.
“The facility in Abu Dhabi is absolutely fantastic – it’s a credit to United’s name,” Neville told the official Manchester United website.
“I did a little bit of a session with the kids, spoke to the coaches and understood what it is that they’re doing over there. The work that the coaches are doing is brilliant.
“Young players taking part in the Soccer Schools programmes are taught in the same way that United players like myself, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes were taught."
Sir Alex Ferguson's side have a handful of soccer schools across the globe, with Singapore, Australia, South Africa and Canada also benefiting from such facilities in various continents.
