Colchester have received a huge boost with the news last season's top scorer Ian Henderson has signed a new deal.

Henderson has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the npower League One outfit although the length of the deal has not been disclosed.

The 26-year-old found the net 11 times for the U's last term, including five goals in the final six matches, to confirm his emergence at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Henderson joined Colchester in January 2010 under former manager Aidy Boothroyd.

He only made six starts in the 2009/10 season but has since proven his worth under current boss John Ward.
