Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has dismissed reports claiming Wigan have made an offer for Craig Mackail-Smith.

The newly-promoted Championship outfit have so far only accepted one bid from an unnamed Premier League club for their star striker, who is set to leave London Road this summer.

Wigan, QPR, Newcastle and Norwich have all been linked to the 27-year old's services, but Posh chief MacAnthony insists the Latics are yet to register an offer. Using his Twitter account, MacAnthony wrote: "Keep hearing Wigan in for Craig but no bid as of yet."

He added: "They better hurry up to be honest."

Mackail-Smith has held talks with the one mystery club to have had a bid accepted but is currently considering his options.
