Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand admits playing for the same side as Ashley Cole has been both a help, and a hindrance to his fledgling Blues career.
The 21-year-old left-back has been waiting patiently for an opportunity to show what he can do when called upon for the Chelsea first-team.
But the fine form of full England international Cole, has meant Bertrand's chances have remained limited.
"It's a massive positive having him at Chelsea - and a massive hindrance too I suppose," said Bertrand.
"He's definitely right up there - his attitude, the way he goes about training. He's won the most FA Cups, and a lot of other silverware, and to still have that attitude at his age is fantastic.
Despite his lack of game time, Bertrand is adamant there is no better player for him to be an understudy to as he continues to learn his trade, with a view to pushing on again next season.
"He's a fantastic role model, despite all the stuff that gets written about him," he continued. "He's a brilliant man and a brilliant player to have around to help you with your game.
"If I ever have anything to ask him about a certain situation on the pitch, he's more than happy to come back and talk."
