Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has welcomed reported interest in Lille striker Gervinho amidst increased speculation linking him with a summer switch to the Emirates.
The 28-year-old French international says a player of Gervinho's calibre would be a welcome addition to Arsene Wenger's side next season.
"I've heard about him. He's a gifted player," Sagna told France's RMC radio station.
"He is an exceptional player who did a lot to help Lille win the title last season. He's got a wonderful technique on a football field, and I'm sure he would be welcome at Arsenal."
Sagna has commanded plenty of column inches himself in recent weeks, with the Gunners full back linked with the Arsenal exit door this summer.
However he has refuted claims he is seeking a move away, and fully expects to be playing under Wenger again next season.
"I have a very good feeling playing with this team, and I'm convinced a lot of French players want to be in my position," he continued.
"But it's true I would have preferred to finish the season with a smile and a trophy.
"Everything is possible, but I can say I'm now at Arsenal 99%."
