Ian Evatt is confident Blackpool can bounce instantly back into the Barclays Premier League next season.
The Tangerines lost their battle for survival on the final day at Manchester United, but had been on an impressive run that put them on the verge of staying up prior to the Old Trafford defeat.
Had the season been longer, the centre back is confident Ian Holloway's side could have survived in the top flight. It wasn't to be, but Evatt has assured fans that confidence is still high and the club is aiming for an instant return.
"We didn't want the campaign to end," he told the club's official website.
"I think if the season would have gone on for two or three weeks more then we would have stayed up. I think we were playing our best football towards the end of the season.
"We've just got to make sure that we start how we finished last season and get off to a flier. Hopefully we'll get back up because the Premier League is the only place to play, and we've got to do all we can to make sure we get back there as soon as possible."
