Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the movements of Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara, with the Spain Under 21 star saying he will leave the Spanish giants if Cesc Fabregas moves there, according to the Daily Mail.
Fabregas has long been linked with an exit from Arsenal in the summer for his former youth club, and after the Gunners went a sixth season without a trophy, the skipper looks set to make the cross country move.
While yesterday Fabregas insisted he was happy at Arsenal, he admitted he’d ‘never say never’ to a return to Barcelona.
Alcantara, meanwhile, will be affected by the movement of Fabregas because should the 24-year-old move, with the Chelsea target reportedly concerned that he will be given limited game time with the Spanish giants.
Chelsea are obviously boosted in their push for Alcantara, as they could guarantee the Spanish youngster experience on the pitch, and along with offering Champions League football and a push for the Barclays Premier League title.
Alcantara is reportedly considering a deal with Chelsea if Fabregas does indeed leave Arsenal after all.
