Manchester United have been connected with Paraguayan starlet Ivan Piris, as Alex Ferguson continues to search for young talent to rebuild the United squad, according to Italian source Calico News.
Piris has been a star for Paraguyan side Itaugua, and while Boca Juniors were reportedly interested in the 22-year-old, Ferguson believes he can get the youngster for a bargain along the likes of Javier Hernandez’s fee last season.
Ferguson is touted as a master at bringing in future stars to the Manchester United camp, with Hernandez scoring a record bag of goals in his debut season to equal United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.
With Hernandez coming to United for a bargain £6 million, Ferguson reportedly sees Piris as another unknown that has fallen 'under the radar', and could be a defender the likes of the next Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic.
Manchester United are reportedly planning to spend up to £50 million this summer, and have so far purchased England youngster Phil Jones, and look close to a deal with Ashley Young.
