Wolves handed opening day repeat

Wolverhampton Wanderers will start the new campaign as they finished the last, with a tricky opening day encounter against Blackburn Rovers, this time away at Ewood Park.

Mick McCarthy's men then host Fulham at Molineux on 20 August, before participating in their first Midlands derby of the season just a week later when they travel to Villa Park to face newly appointed Alex McLeish's Aston Villa.

The following month sees the visit of two more London clubs in consecutive home games with Tottenham Hotspur followed by newly promoted Queens Park Rangers on 17 September.

Wolves face Black Country games against West Brom in mid-October at The Hawthorns with the reverse fixture scheduled for 11 February.

Fans can look forward to a Boxing Day trip to Arsenal before seeing the New Year in with the visit of title-hopefuls Chelsea at Molineux on 2 January.

The final home game sees Wolves host Everton, and McCarthy will be hoping the club’s top-flight status is secure before their trip to the DW Stadium to face Wigan on the final day of the 2011/12 campaign.
