The Argentinean Primera Division comes to a close this weekend with the final round of matches taking place on Saturday and Sunday night. Those familiar with Argentine football betting will already know the destination of this year’s Clausura championship with Velez Sarsfield already assured of their eighth league title.
The Buenos Aires outfit secured their second Clausura in three years after beating Huracan last week and will go into Sunday night’s clash with Racing Club with an insurmountable 4-point lead over second placed Lanús.
There are up to 40 football betting markets available on the tie with the Champions the current 3/5 favourites and Racing out at 4/1. The draw meanwhile is currently priced at 13/5.
While Velez Sarsfield have only lost four matches this term, it’s been a disappointing season for Racing, who could potentially drop a further five places and finish as low as 18th if results go against them this weekend.
Boca, Independiente and River Plate have also endured below par campaigns while Sarsfield have now overtaken Racing in Clausura wins with Racing’s seven eclipsed by the former’s eight.
One football tip for this week’s tie would be to take a close look at the goal markets. Velez Sarsfield have scored 34 and conceded 16 in their 18 matches so far with an average of 2.8 goals being scored in every game, while that figure only drops to 2.7 in Racing’s games.
And with Velez Sarsfield desperate for a bumper home win in front of their own fans, both the over 2.5 and over 3.5 goals at 10/11 and 5/2 respectively look tempting.
Several Velez players will also be aware that the game represents their last match before this summer’s Copa America – set to be held in Argentina – so will also be hoping to impress Sergio Batista and gain a spot in the hosts’ squad.
