Derby chief executive Tom Glick insists manager Nigel Clough remains the right man to take the club forward.

The former Nottingham Forest and England striker became Rams boss in January 2009 and has a year to run on his deal. Glick says there is no rush to discuss Clough's contract situation and that the current focus is on signing new players.

"He is definitely, as we have always maintained, our manager," Glick told the Derby Telegraph.

"We both know that we need to have a good season and that's what we are preparing for.

"There will be plenty of time for us to talk about his contract situation but at the moment, we are focused on putting a squad together, having a great pre-season and getting a good start to next season."
