Manchester City starlet Devante Cole has penned a three-year contract with the club.

The 16-year-old striker, who has represented England U16 five times and scored against Northern Ireland in the Victory Shield back in March, has been on the books at the Eastlands academy for several years now, and will make the step-up to the Citizens' U17 team as of next season.

The son of former Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United forward Andy Cole, Cole jnr has been tipped for a bright future by academy chief Mark Allen.

“Devante joins us as a scholar and he will go into the Under-17 level next season – a group of players we are quietly optimistic about," Allen told the club's official website.

“We’ll be pushing them forward next season and developing them further and I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of him and a lot of the other lads in the near future.”
