Blackburn striker Benjani Mwaruwari claims he will return to Ewood Park for another season despite his contract expiring at the end of last season.

The former Zimbabwe international revealed he has been offered a new 12-month deal by Rovers boss Steve Kean and is in the process of completing the formalities of the paperwork.

"Yes, I will be back at Blackburn Rovers again next season," the 32-year-old told the Lancashire Telegraph. "I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club."

He added: "I don't know if there were other clubs who wanted me because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted now."
