Scunthorpe United manager Alan Knill is yet to discover if Nicky Ajose will be available on loan this season.
Ajose stared for Knill's Bury as they won promotion from League Two, and now with the former Shakers boss the new man at Scunthopre, the boss is keen to be reunited with the starlet.
But Knill says United have yet to make their mind up what to do with Ajose.
"So far they have not indicated what their plans are for Nicky yet," Knill told the Scunthorpe Telegraph.
"I know other clubs are interested in taking him, but United have not decided yet whether they will let him out on loan again.
"If they do, then it is my job to try and persuade them that allowing him to come to Scunthorpe would be in his best interests."
The playmaker scored 12 goals for Bury last season and has caught the eye, attracting interest from a number of Football League sides.
Without Ajose, United won the FA Youth Cup for the 10th time in their history last season.
