Dimitar Berbatov is set to enter into talks with Manchester United over his future with the club, with the striker still insisting that he wants to stay at Old Trafford.
"We'll know more after we have talks with United, but Berbatov wants to stay and to keep winning trophies,” Berbatov’s agent, Emil Danchev, told the Daily Mirror.
The Bulgarian has had an up and down last season with Manchester United, with Berbatov taking out top scoring accolades for both his side and the Barclays Premier League, but finding his place in the starting line up lost to the younger Javier Hernandez.
Pundits argue that Hernandez is a better pairing with Wayne Rooney than Berbatov, and after the 30-year-old was left out of the Champions League final squad all together, speculation was rife that Berbatov was poised for an exit.
But the star insisted after the final that while he was disappointed not to be included in the line up, he still wanted to stay with United for next season.
Numerous clubs have been linked with a move for Berbatov should contract talks fall through, with Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and even a return to Tottenham on the cards for the star.
