Manchester United legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has recommended two players to his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson, it has been claimed.

According to talkSPORT, the ex-Red Devils striker has urged Ferguson to take a look at American duo Joshua Gatt and Sean Cunningham, who have impressed under the guidance of Solskjaer at FK Molde.

Solskjaer left his position as the United reserve team coach for the manager's job with Molde, and the Norwegian side won the league during the 38-year-old's first season in charge.

Since quitting Old Trafford last November, Solskjaer has remained in contact with Ferguson and has now encouraged the United supremo to take a look at Gatt, 19, and Cunningham, 18.

Winger Gatt and left-back Cunningham have now been tipped to undergo a trial period with United, before Ferguson makes a decision on whether or not he will bring them to Old Trafford on a permanent basis.

United, meanwhile, are expected to complete the capture of Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David De Gea in the coming days, who will join the club as a replacement for the recently retired Edwin Van der Sar.

De Gea underwent a medical in Manchester on Monday and today confirmed that he and his family had given a tour of the United facilities.

The 20-year-old posted on Twitter: "I have been invited by Man U to see the club and the city with my family and to be given an offer."
