Notts County have signed Northern Ireland international Jeff Hughes on a two-year deal.

Hughes, who worked with Magpies coach John Schofield when they were both at Lincoln, left Bristol Rovers this summer.

''He's been away on holiday and finally and thankfully we have got this deal done," said Magpies manager Martin Allen. ''He's a left-sided player, can play left-back or left wing, and over the last few years he's been playing 40 games a season and scoring goals.''
