Arsenal are considering a summer move for Sunderland goalkeeper Craig Gordon, it has been claimed.
According to the Mirror, the north London club are monitoring the situation of the talented Scotland international, who has one year remaining on his current contract at the Stadium of Light.
Arsene Wenger reportedly sees the 28-year-old as competition for Wojciech Szczesny, rather than as a direct replacement for the current Arsenal first choice.
The Arsenal boss, though, is keen to offload one of Manuel Almunia or Vito Mannone - or both - before the acquisition of another gloveman is made.
Arsenal, meanwhile, remain hopeful Lille forward Gervinho will seal his protracted move to the Emirates Stadium later this week, with a fee expected to be agreed in the coming days.
The Gunners are also said to be formalise their interest in Bolton centre-back Gary Cahill, while they are still keeping tabs on Blackburn defender Chris Samba.
It is suggested by the Mirror that Arsenal will offer Bolton Henri Lansbury and Spanish starlet Ignasi Miquel - with the latter on loan - as well as a lump sum, in an attempt to secure Cahill's signature.
