Chelsea target Javier Pastore’s agent has backed up Palermo’s claim that €50 million will be the minimum amount the star will consider leaving the Italian club for.
"It's true, there is someone that wants him at that price," Marcelo Simonin told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"This is the basis, hence, the price will absolutely not be lowered.
"If anyone wants him they can contact us. Pastore is calm and never asks me about the (transfer) market, we speak about other things."
Chelsea are not the only suitors for Pastore, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also reportedly fighting for the 22-year-old. Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini confirmed yesterday that a bid had been made by an unknown club for €50 million, and while the Italian side haven’t responded as yet, it looks likely that Pastore will exit for either Spain or England.
As Chelsea’s new manager Andre Villas-Boas settles in to his position at Stamford Bridge, numerous transfer targets are set to be signed by the Blues.
While a bid was made and rejected for playmaker Luka Modric two weeks ago, Chelsea have now turned their attentions to Pastore in the hopes of plumping up their midfield.
