Big incentive for Pool to repeat the Tangerine dream

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has offered the club's players a share of the £5 million bonus on offer if they gain re-promotion to the Premier League.

The Tangerines were relegated on the final day of the season following defeat to Manchester United, and with Charlie Adam and DJ Campbell, two of Blackpool's star turns from last season, expected to leave, Oyston would be forgiven for being pragmatic ahead of the new season.

However, the owner has installed the same clause as when the club were promoted in 2009-10, and he's hoping for a repeat performance.

“When I do this year's bonus negotiations it will be back to the old format, which is myself, the manager and one player, and we won't allow ourselves to be dragged down the rather pointless road that we were dragged down this time," Oyston said.

"I intend to keep the bonus structure more or less as it was, a £5m bonus to be distributed as the players require but with the guidance of myself and the manager this time."
