Swansea City defender Angel Rangel says promotion to the Premier League via the playoffs convinced him to sign a new deal with the club.
The Spanish full-back has signed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium following speculation that he was considering leaving the newly promoted side after their playoff final victory over Reading.
And Rangel said it was the pull of the Premier League that made him put pen to paper.
"I'm delighted to have agreed a new contract," Rangel said.
"When I arrived here I wanted to be part of a club that had big plans to play in the Premier League, and now we have accomplished that."
"The day I signed here, Roberto [Martinez] said the club wanted to be in the Premier League in four years.
"That was what I wanted to hear. We were in League One at the time, and things have changed a lot since then.
"But we have done things the right way. We play the right style and the squad enjoys it.
"Myself and the club have made massive strides in the past few seasons, and now we are focusing on the Premier League."
