Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam will return to training with the npower Championship club next week despite knowing long-time suitors Liverpool are still in the hunt for his signature.

The 26-year-old was the subject of two failed bids by the Reds back in January. Seasiders chairman Karl Oyston dug his heels in over the fee as he hoped keeping hold of Adam would help secure the club's Barclays Premier League survival.

"I go back to Blackpool on Monday and that's the way it is," he told the Blackpool Gazette.

He added: "Everybody knows the situation - the club have met with Liverpool but that's as far as it has gone.

"I had a conversation with the chairman but that will remain private.

"It's important that we keep everything in-house - whatever happens will happen."
