Midfielder Jacques Maghoma has signed a new two-year deal at Burton.

The 23-year-old midfielder was widely expected to leave the Pirelli Stadium in the summer but has decided to extend his spell for another League Two campaign. In May, boss Paul Peschisolido admitted he feared the out-of-contract player would be leaving despite being offered a new contract.

But now Maghoma has had a change of heart and he told the Derby Telegraph: "I had a good season last year. My aim is to win the league."

He added: "I have unfinished business here (at Burton Albion) and I've come back after having offers from abroad.

"But family comes first in my mind and Burton's been so good to me.

"This time round, in my mind, we won't be fighting relegation, we will be fighting for first place."
