Aston Villa will take on Europa League finalists Braga in a pre-season friendly on August 6 at the AXA Stadium in Portugal.

Braga knocked out Liverpool, Dynamo Kiev and Benfica on their way to the final before losing to Porto in Dublin.

It will be the second summer running Villa have headed to Portugal for part of their pre-season plans. They competed in the Guadiana Cup 12 months ago, defeating Feyenoord before losing to Benfica.

The clash with Braga will conclude a busy pre-season schedule for new Villa manager Alex McLeish's side.

Villa will compete in the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong against Blackburn on July 27 and either Chelsea or Kitchee on July 30.

Either side of that trip Villa will take on Walsall at the Banks' Stadium on July 21 and Derby at Pride Park on August 3.
