Plymouth Argyle have agreed a deal to sign striker Liam Dickinson as Peter Reid continues his rebuilding progress following last season’s problems on and off the field.
The former Stockport County and Brighton and Hove Albion player had spells at Walsall and Rochdale last season following his move to Barnsley in 2010.
Peter Reid, who has already drafted in Robbie Williams and Durrell Berry, is thrilled to have signed a player of Dickinson's ability. "Liam is still young and a big, strong lad," he said.
"I've spoken to the boy, I've met him and he just needs to get his career back on track. I think it's a great opportunity for us to be the club where he does that.
"I can only help the boy, he's got to do it himself and it's seems to me that he's got the bit between his teeth ready to do a job for us so I'm delighted that he's agreed to sign."
Argyle are looking to bounce back after they suffered relegation from League One last season following their ten-point deduction for entering administration.
